No time for posting pics today ... we're exhausted!! Scratch that -- JIM AND I are exhausted. Maelin's bedtime came and went, and she's going full steam at 10:30pm! We are now in Guangzhou, with our first flight with Maelin successfully behind us. More details tomorrow. Right now, it's off to bed!!

The Cliff Notes
Here's our story: I had been trolling the deaf adoption websites and email groups for years. In February of 2006, i read an email from a woman named Monica (thank you, Monica!!) who posted information about an almost-two-year old deaf child in China whose file would be sent back shortly. I wrote to the agency and requested her file, which included a photo. That photo stayed in my mind for days; i woke up at night either dreaming about her or thinking of her. Jim and i did some soul-searching and decided we were ready to expand our family. We sent our Letter of Intent to the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) in early March of 2006 and received pre-approval in April. She was matched with us!! After that, we spent 13 months feverishly collecting and completing paperwork. It was a long road but worth every coveted piece of paper. We met our new daughter, Maelin Yufeng Gleeson, on April 2nd, 2007, in Chongqing, China :)

you have a lot of "tired" to get through yet! But when you do there are a lot of people behind you supporting you even if in thought. Just take a deep breath and keep on keeping on. I'm on my second time around I've been breathing deep for a while!! Breath deep, count to 10, breath deep, count to 10..SCREAM!!!.... great excerise!!! You will survive. All kidding aside I know the trip itself can drain both physically and emotionally but just look for the blessings that are ahead they will replace the tired side. Travel safe and we will see you soon.

As the resident babysitter for MSD I can't wait for you to return to the states!!!! Maelin is just too cute!!! as for the Chinese food one of my favorite things to eat is Chinese McDonalds (that is what my grandpa called them) Char Shui Bow It is a sweet baked roll stuffed with BBQ Pork. They are so good, if you get the chance to try them do it!

Tired?!? Rookie parents...there is no such thing as "tired" until they are grown and off to college. We all want more pictures, and I am pretty sure you are suppose to put the rest of the team before yourself...remember, the is no I in team...I love the shot of her eating...but my favorite is of the three of you together...Beautiful. What signs is she using? Is she sleeping well? What seem to be her favorite foods and toys so far? Pam, Jeff, and Levi Klock

I agree with the rest there is no such things as rest when you become parent and I can tell you even after they are grown then come more little one couldn't wait to get home from the hospital to show Jason the new pictures
